Register for the first Administration & Finance staff town hall

Vice Chancellor Wilton sent the following invitation to all administration and finance staff on April 10th.

Dear Staff,

We’ve been looking for ways to better communicate with you, and we’re excited to try something new. I am pleased to invite you to join me for the first Administration and Finance Staff Town Hall on Monday, May 11 from 9-11 a.m. at the Zellerbach Playhouse.

Berkeley wouldn’t be the world’s number one public university without hardworking, dedicated staff like you, and open communication is critical to our success.  The goal of the event is to come together to discuss Berkeley’s priorities, opportunities, and our shared challenges, and answer your questions. As we approach the end of the semester, we also want to take this moment to celebrate recent accomplishments -- there is no shortage of incredible work happening in our division and we are grateful for all that you do.

Event highlights will include:

  • A conversation with Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Claude Steele - Interviewed by Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer Rosemarie Rae

  • A staff Q&A with campus leaders - Moderated by Campus Shared Services Chief Operating Officer Peggy Huston

  • An engaging presentation by Christine Carter, Ph.D., Senior Fellow at the Greater Good Science Center and author of The Sweet Spot: How to Find Your Groove at Home and Work

  • Welcome reception with campus leaders - Includes coffee and light refreshments

Registration is required to attend the event
Because it’s our first town hall, we are requiring registration to ensure we can accommodate everyone who is interested. Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis.

To Register:

  • Login to the "blu" portal

  • Click the UC Learning Center link at the bottom of the “Self Service” section

  • Use the “activity search” to search for the event code: VCAF

  • Click register

If the event is significantly oversubscribed, we will livestream it for those who are unable to attend in person.

Managers and supervisors are strongly encouraged to allow staff time to attend and participate, subject to the business needs of the department.  We will be sending a formal agenda and more information to those who register in the days ahead.

I look forward to seeing you on May 11th.

Sincerely,

John Wilton
Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance
